Hi,
I wanted to create a custom layout for the event detail page. I understand, that I can't activate it as long as the code is not different to the default layout. So I changed it a little bit, chose "Published" and saved it. When I refresh the page in the frontend, the changes are effective. When I now close the custom layout page in the backend, the custom layout is marked as "hidden" again. When I now go back again for editing, the default values are restored, my changes are gone.

What am I doing wrong?

By the way, why am I doing this? Because there are some layout problems I can't change in the control panel. For example in the year or week overview there is ":: DEFAULT" written after the title of the event. Also the title is written in a smaller font size then the rest. On the detail page there is the german word "Uhr" written after every time. But this is not common in Germany. If there would be e.g. a two hour event from 8:00am to 10:00am we would write 8:00 - 10:00 Uhr. On the page it is written 8:00 Uhr - 10:00 Uhr. I wasn't able to change this with overrides or other settings in the backend.

I am using the latest Updates and the Yootheme Pro theme.

Thanks for any help.

Regards

Alex

Hey Alex,

I have seen this before where there is a level of advanced caching in place either in the site or via a CDN.

If you edit and hard refresh do you see your code changes re-applied?

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

Sorry for the late answer, but i was very busy. As long as i stay on the edit page of the custom layout and just click on „Save“, all changes are visible in the frontend. When i leave the edit page, it is still shown correct. When I go back for further editing, all changes are gone, the original code is shown. So I saved my code to a Word document to get it back faster.

I tried your recommendation, but it didn‘t help. Anyway I have more problems with the custom layout. The Title-Link field has a very small font-size in the frontend. It doesn‘t change using the editor. Also i can‘t enter a free text after a field. I would like to add the word „Uhr“ after the date in the first line. Also i would like to change the color of the calender list to a darker red color. Which file have I got to edit for this?

Regards

Alex

I am having the same problem as the original poster.

The changes I make to the event details page do sometimes show up on the front-end when I refresh, but as soon as I go back to make some changes everything reverts back to the default, and all my changes are gone.

Please can you advise a fix for this?

Best regards
Chris
