I upgraded to the new Jevents with the new redesign of the backend and i noticed all the time, when I select JEvents from Components it takes over a minute to bring up the dashboard. It never did that with the old version. Any ideas?
This was resolved. My firewall was blocking some countries, which the was where the update feed was from. I removed the firewall rule and now everything is fast. Please note, this was resolved a long time ago and saw that I never marked it as resolved.
Do you have a huge number of events? Do you have Joomla debug mode enabled?
If that isn't the explanation if you go to the JEvents configuration set "Backend Landing Page" to be the list of events instead of the dashboard

These are fresh jevents installs. It happens on all my sites that use Jevents. It takes about 2 minutes for the initial backend dashboard to load. After that I can load other internal backend jevents pages. I have tested 2 different web servers also. I'm surprised know one has mentioned this. If they haven't it has to be something with my server configurations I guess. Or Joomla configuration.
That does sound very strange, initially sometimes whilst we do a check of a data fetch it can take a minute but only once?
Can you provide super user logins where I can re-create this please?

p.s. If you can't give us logins can you do a test for us please?
Temporarily enable Joomla debug mode before opening the slow page and then look at the database queries and profile section in the debug output.
Use the web browser console and look at the xhr/network requests tab to see what is taking a long time to load.

Do you have any restrictions on UK/British IP Addresses? I can't even access the home page - it just hangs doing nothing.
My Static IP address is in the private site details tab below if that helps

Ok thanks. I just added your IP to our safe IP list on our firewall. We do have a country code block feature but shouldn't be blocking the UK. Let me know if you still have trouble getting in.
Mystery solved - JEvents picks up a new feed from the jevents site and for some reason on your site this is timing out. I have disabled this option in the config and now it works ok.

Ok thanks so much. Can you tell me where in the config you disabled this? Is this on backend or in the code? Either way, could you provide instructions on how to disable that feed? Thanks
Its normally not available unless you enter a download ID code - if you do that the option appears.

I'm having this issue too. I'm launching a new updated j4 site this coming weekend and the calendar is killing the site - speed: takes about 30 seconds!!!
If the only way to change this is to be a paying member, does that means the free version can't be used except with this restriction?
I find that hard to believe.
Are you seeing this problem in the backend or the frontend?
If its the backend can you enable Joomla debug mode and look at the database queries to see if any of them is taking a particularly long time to run?
