Check if there are any permission problems to save the configuration file.

Also I have another oddity--an event for may 8th is showing correct in entry screen but giving it as a latest event on front end dated for today 4/5/08. edited and saved again--no change

You will find JEvents config file at administrator/components/com_events/events_config.ini.php

Thank you for trying to help me. I found the config file, changed the permissions to 777 but no change on the front end . reentered a new email, saved, no change on front end. checked the code of the same config file and it has the correct email address. The email it is giving is my admin username@ my site.com My site is localroost.com if you care to look.
comments above the configuration screen says it is writeable.

It is not saving the changes it seems. Should I reinstall it? Will I lose all my events if I do? <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very Sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->

The email link showing on front end is not the admin email of the JEvents config file. It's the email of the Joomla userid.
