Resolved Timezone Problems in Joomla 1.6 - a Fix

THIS IS NO LONGER NEEDED FROM JEVENTS 2.0 beta 5 onwards - this implements a workaround so we don't need to wait for the Joomla fix.

Joomla 1.6 overrides a core PHP date class and changes its behaviour to store times in UTC/GMT in all cases. This has introduced at least 2 bugs http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... m_id=24604 and http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... m_id=24639

The net result of these bugs is that the timezone handling in JEvents 2.0 in Joomla 1.6 is compromised.

While we await a bug fix from Joomla you can unzip and upload this file to libraries/joomla/utilities/date.php

This date file is modified from the the version in Joomla 1.6.0 - the changes can be found if you search for the text 'reset the timezone' in the file.
