Resolved Restoring database

Sorry, but I think I'm taking stupid pills today.

I just uninstalled 1.43beta and installed 1.43RC1, then imported my backups of jos_events and jos_events_categories to the database. The new install didn't find the events OR categories, so I went back and reinstalled 1.43beta, again importing the database backup. Still nothing found, even though the database tables show that all the information is there.

Any idea why it's not finding the information in the two database tables? What to try now? I don't want to re-enter everything manually!

This was the wrong way to upgrade. JEvents also uses the Joomla category table jos_categories. The corresponding entries were deleted with the uninstall process. Recover this table as well. I hope you have a backup of the whole database.

Thanks, Thomas. Jos_categories is restored, and calendar is working.

Two quick questions:

(1) OK -- what is the RIGHT way to upgrade from 1.43beta to 1.43RC1?

(2) Is there any way to get the Legend module to display more than 4 categories? It shows 4 (out of 5) and then just shows the bar "All categories".

(1) Approach 1 of the wiki docoumentation is the correct way but you have to reenter all parameters.

(2) The legend module show all categories you defined at menus parameter. There is a limit of 4 categories. If you have more, do not select categories for the menu entry and you get all.
