I find that I can set my event to recur the last day of the month but none of the other repeat options will work. On the Calendar tab in the back end the radio buttons wont let me select them for the other kinds of repetitions. Only the column with Every day, 1 * per week, n * per week, 1 * per month, Each end of the month and 1 * per year have selectable radio buttons. All others are either grayed out or wont select, even when the appropriate type of rep is checked, they won't become selectable.

I created a simple event for tomorrow, from 8 pm to 9 pm and the only way I can get the event to appear in the calendar is to make it repeat at the end of the month or once a year. It's published in a category.

I'm using joomla 1.0.12, mysql 5 and jevents 1.4.2. Also, when I click preview the popup window says "You are not authorised to view this resource."

Any ideas?

Thanks - Eric

Yes, and there was nothing there that didn't explain the obvious. Now I also notice that on current or future month views it has the words "Should not really be here" above the month and year at the upper left of the calendar grid.

I have attached a picture of what my screen looks like. It doesn't let me select the number of times per week, what days or anything in white that is in that second colored column.

That is a single 37 hour event - not a one day event. For a 1 day event you should have the same start and end date (just different start and end times)

I've tried many variations, including the above overly long one, and none have worked. Below is a new screen shot of a one hour event on 4/2 that I tried to set to repeat but none of the repeat options would allow me to select. Again, the options in the second colored column remain grayed out or won't select. I reinstalled the component, made sure all the modules and mambots were published and activated, created a published category and one event, but cant get it to repeat except at the end of each month. And I see that it says event repeating only applies if end date is after start date, but even when I comply with that, there is no way to check the boxes for repeat specifics. I can make it appear every day or at the end of each month, but not with other parameters

I really would recommend that you go through all the example repeat patterns at http://www.jevents.net/content/blogcate ... ang,en_GB/ they cover most of the bases

I did.

As you can see in my last screen capture I have done things correctly on this tab but as I've said before, the second column of check boxes and radio buttons will not allow me to pick them. They are either grayed out, or if they are still white won't let me check them. Does anyone know what would be causing this?

Which browser do you use?
Try another one. Check whether you have javascript errors. I guess you have.
The message "Event Repeating is only applicable ....." disappears when start date and end date differ.
This is done by javascript.

I am also having this problem I have tried it from 2 different machines with IE7, firefox and opera and it is not possible to click a recurring option as it is greyed out.

Howver I have noted in IE7 an error report in a yellow triangle it says

Line 1187
Character 1
error object expected
code 0

This error only shows on the edit events page;

There are no errors shown in other browsers but I still cannot select a recurring day as it is greyed out.

I use firefox and ie6, but am not getting any javascript errors and js is enabled. I'm about ready to pay the $5 for Jcal Pro if nobody has any idea why this isn't working.

I found this error to be related to the minted 1.5 administrator template. If you switch back to the default administrator template this error will be corrected.

Yes, I can confirm that. I found the bug in the minted one-point-five template. They change the generated HTML output and this breaks inline javascript.
