I am evaluating both EventList and JEvents on a J! 1.5 localhost environment.
I have managed to install JEvents and found that it did not give the result I wanted.
But after I had uninstalled JEvents from J! and tried to install Eventlist, I noticed that EventList would not install, as it uses identical names as JEvenst does for some component directories. So now I am sort-of stuck.
I uninstalled JEvents, and now I cannot get EventList to work as the uninstallation of JEvents did not remove files / directories, only hid them for J!.

As it may take some time for you JEvents people to start using unique files / directory names, does anyone have a suggestion as to how to go about?

I had thought to use my html-editor to replace all occurrences of the term 'eventlist' into E1_eventlist and E2_eventlist respectively using my html-editor, but then I realised the term would also in the MySQL database, and there it is not possible to find out which component put it there. So that won't work.

Suggestions? Help? Assistance? Bright ideas? Solutions?

Greetings

Is it directory names or class names that is causing the problem. Can you provide more details?>

If its directory names we are using the same component directory names the JEvents project has been using for several years

When installing EventList from the backend, the installer reports
Component Install: Another Component is already using directory: "C:\Xampp\htdocs\J\components\com_eventlist"
But I get the feeling it may have primarily to do with EventList, so I try and find an answer on their forum.
