Hi,

I am doing some testing with importing events via CSV. I have followed the instructions on your documentation page for including an image, and it seems to work, but with a couple caveats.

First, my understanding is that I must upload the image I wish to use to my site's "images/jevents" and "images/jevents/thumbnails" directories in order for the image to properly be used by the imported event. Is this correct?

Second, if I use the above process of uploading the image first, the image does successfully display for the imported event on the site, but there is no square thumbnail generated as a result of the event import as far as I can tell. My client's site has a latest events module on the homepage that displays a 115 x 115 pixel thumbnail image for each upcoming event, so it will be problematic if the import does not automatically create this version of the image.

Is there a way to have JEvents create all of the necessary versions of the image upon importing a CSV?

Thanks,
Ben

So for the custom layouts it would be:

{{Sized Image 1:JEV_SIZEDIMAGE_1;400x300}}

OR for the latest events module it would be:

${JEV_SIZEDIMAGE_1;50x50}

I will update the custom format string docs now.

Many thanks
Tony

Hello Ben,

1. Yep this is correct, otherwise imagine you have 100 images to download to your server, this would end up very slow process and php request would timeout. Alternatively.. you could have a custom field for a url for instance then use this as the image address and output the url in a custom <img src="" /> etc.

2. If you use the JEvents getsizedimage tag it will automatically generate it to the size entered :-).

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

1. Makes sense.

2. Would you be able to point me to your documentation on the getsizedimage tag? I did a search for it on the main documentation page, and the only result that came up was this forum thread.

Thanks!
Ben
