Hey guys!

Not sure how to handle this, maybe you can help please?

Recently I added the iCal download to save to calendar button to my event detail pages through the custom layouts and now Google is reporting that the links to these with 500 errors.

Heres what Im seeing in Google Webmaster Tools
Screen Shot 2018-08-26 at 9.41.55 AM.png

Granted the bot can't download the information but it's still reporting the errors which could in turn if too many are reported could hurt my rank.

So my thought was to add a nofollow to the link to see if this might help, but because the button is inputted within the custom layout I can't add it to the url.

Is there anyway you guys could add this to the source?

Do you think this would stop Google from reporting it with a 500?

Thanks

Adina

Hello,

Can we get a link to your site? It shouldn't be reporting a 500 error that insinuates a php/server side error handling the request.

Many thanks
Tony

I checked the direct links on the site for the save to calendar and its giving me an error page saying "File not found" or "Site can't be reached"

But here's something interesting to go along with this that maybe will shed a little light in some direction to look for in the future....

Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed that the RSS feed from the latest events module that my Mailchimp newsletter uses have not been showing the location information.

Note: it's only happening in my Florida directory of my site, all others are working perfect as they have been for the past couple years since I set it up.

This morning it came through fine

When I went into Mailchimp and checked the display on the template, it would show fine as well.

Over the past couple weeks I've also check the actual feed itself and tried to recreate it to error. Only once have I actually had it come back without the location information until this morning.

This morning (after the email came through ok) I checked the RSS feed and now it's not showing the location information again.

On top of the RSS, I also have had a page on the site that includes a latest events module that keeps intermittently giving me a white screen as well and the only way to clear it was to clear the site cache.

This morning it did it started doing it again.

So I cleared the cache and poof all gone, everything works again, including the save to iCal.

I then proceeded to compare all Jevents settings and plugins across all of the directories and found that
plugin_content_jevcreator : 3.0.1 and
plugin_jevents_jevusers : 3.4.3

were not activated on the other sites that were working properly, so I deactivated them on the Florida directory.

I also completed turned off JCH Optimize cleared the cache and tried creating the error, and it was working fine.

I then proceeded to start from the lowest setting on JCH and gradually advance the settings until I got back up to the highest settings I could.

It has yet to cause any of the errors and I've been constantly trying it for about 4 hours now.

I can't duplicate the error now... but is there anything you could think of that might be conflicting with cache to cause these 500 errors and not to display the location of an event?

Or cache and the two plugins I deactivated?

So the missing of the locations based on caching could mean the caching plugin was called before the locations plugin.

But why you got the 500 error's I'm a bit stumped without being able to replicate it and debug it.

You could look at install sentry.io for high level indepth error reporting which a stack trace which would help us diagnose the issue?

Many thanks
Tony
