You want the main component calendar to display within a module?

I can't speak for yaacov and honestly, I'm really green on Joomla (still working my way through the manual), but the main meat of my site is the calendar - so to have the monthly view calendar be front and center on the front page of my Joomla site is the ultimate goal.

I see now <!-- s:!: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_exclaim.gif" alt=":!:" title="Exclamation" /><!-- s:!: --> - you want it on the front page instead of the normal frontpage articles etc.

I'll have to think about that - the answer is almost certainly not. Most people use the mini-cal on the front page and have a link to the main calendar.

In JEvents 1.5 you would be able to develop a customised module layout that would look like the main calendar.

Here's the solution to my problem (if anyone else has this):

1. Make sure the Calendar is in monthly view.
Joomla Admin > Components > Events > Configration > Start Page (Monthly)

2. Create a menu link to the calendar component.

3. Make sure the calendar link is the top most link in your menu and Joomla will automatically use that as your homepage.
