Hello, in the new version of jevents 3.6, the extra info field is missing.
Impossible to update events because the extra information are missing.
Could you update ?

picasso Your issue should have been resolved in version 3.6.2 - or you could install the version in my previous reply (just above here)

@ geraint: I Hope you can also solve the following problems:

In custom layouts the event edit form can't be saved. The only working button is the "cancel" button.
In the frontend the layout is broken when opening the create event form.

Best regards
Patrik

I just made a new clean Joomla 3.9.20 installation with only jevents component.

All custom layouts can be saved except edit layout page: "save" and "save & close" buttons do not work, tested on Firefox, Chrome, Safari.

The problem could be somewhere in

administrator/components/com_jevents/views/abstract
and
administrator/components/com_jevents/views/defaults.

When I replace these two folders with the folders of version 3.4.57 everything works fine.

I have installed now V3.6.2 and get new errors:
I just can fill in title and extra info in a new event in BE and FE.
Backend custom layout problem is still not solved.

EDIT: Some more problems: when Event Edit Page is published the tabs do not work any longer. I only get the calendar view though common is underlined. When I unpublish the Event Edit Page I can see the content of the tab "Common, but I only can fill in title and extra info.

These sound like javascript problems - as you fill in the title field the rest of the form should start to appear automatically.

Can you tell me if there are errors in the javascript console?

Can you clear your web browser cache - does that help?

Finally - do you have popup user access control on the backend of your site? We are loading a js file from the /administrator/ path which we are in the process of moving to the frontend to avoid popup login access issues

I do not have any chance to use it on any site with any browser. The errors remain the same.
I have created a live site and set you as superuser. If you want I can send you the login details via pm.

Error console:

Uncaught TypeError: defaultsLayout.test is not a function

That would be cool you can either add the credentials in the private site details tab (which only you and our site moderators can see) or send me a PM via the envelope icon at the top of the page.

Looking at the error in the code I'm wondering if the issue is caused by your WYSIWYG editor - which editor do you use?

Hello,
I have the same issue. In the FE, there is no possibility to create an event.
After entering the title, the category selection appears incomplete, so no category can be selected.
I cannot create an event without a category. create_event.jpg

Hello,
I have the same problem as patbe60 (backend).

Can this file (icalevent.edit_page) be accessed directly? Where is he located? Or maybe data are saved in the database?

onclick https://www.soundpostkarten.ch/administrator/index.php?option=com_jevents&task=defaults.edit&id=2:1

I found the source of the problem - we were using some javascript that is not supported in all browsers. I have installed the latest build on your server patbe60 and its working now.

uartur1 I am attaching it here for you - I'll do a new release later today or tomorrow with this fix included.

There are more problems with the custom layout of the Event Edit Page: When I customize the layout and publish it, in the FE I see the content of the calendar tab, though the common tab is activated. I can't choose the common tab as long as the Event Edit Page layout is activated. It doesn't matter whether I choose "All" or any category. See attachments. To use the add event functionality only works, when the Event Edit Page in the BE is deactivated.

Will the latest build be available via update?

picasso I'm doing a new release in the next couple of hours which includes this fix for the save buttons in event editing layout editing.

uartur1 can you give us login details to take a look - I#m guessing there is a javascript error on your page that stops other scripts from running.
