Is there a way to create a separate event detail page for a specific category?

I am entering information into custom fields and want it to auto populate the description area vs me having to enter the date directly.

Or is there a way to call something like this in the description box?

See {{Performererformer}} Live in Concert {{Start Date:STARTDATE}} at the {{Location Title:JEVLOCATION_TITLE}} in {{Location City:JEVLOCATION_CITY}}, {{Location State:JEVLOCATION_STATE}}!

I've tried just adding this into the description but it doesn't work...
