We have almost completed a translation into Japanese (93%)

Need some help understanding a couple of the terms because the translation will differ according to the exact meaning of the words...

In the repeat type section:

Each - what is this each of? Repetitions? Days? Events?
of Each - same as the above?

Japanese translation would be nice for me ....
outdoorclubjapan.com

[i:18i518nz]Repeat type
No Repeat Daily Weekly Monthly Yearly[/i:18i518nz]

No repeat: the event never appears again on the calendar - only for the dates you set; start-end.
Daily: The event will be repeated on every day until you set it to stop.
Weekly: The event will repeat every week - you will see it automatically on the calendar every week. This can be set by day of the week or 7 days I think.

Monthly Yearly[/i]
Same as for weekly, the event will show again every month or every year. This is controlled by new menu;
Repeat Interval weeks
Repeat Count repeats
Repeat Until

Hi
(by the way I know you :-) can you guess who I am?)
This doesn't help actually. I need to know what the [u:18gg3foa]each[/u:18gg3foa] and [u:18gg3foa]of each[/u:18gg3foa] mean in the ini file (items 12 and 13 under repeat type listed below for reference). I guess it means something like each/of each in 'each Monday of each week' or 'each 13th of each month' for example but I would like confirmation or correction.

Repeat type
1 > Every day
2 > Every %s days
3 > Every week
4 > Every %s weeks
5 > Every even week
6 > Every odd week
7 > Every month
8 > Every %s months
9 > Every year
10 > Every %s years
11 > Only selected days
12 > Each
13 > of each
14 > end of the month
15 > until
16 > for total of %s repetitions

These phrases are currently in code that it not used. It was an attempt to convert the repeat pattern into "human speach" it is an exercise that is currently shelved to you can leave these untranslated for the time being.

OK... does timeless mean 'without end' or 'no time specified'?

And please eplain what 'with instances' means.

Thanks

"timeless" means "no specified time" e.g. a public holiday or someone's birthday

"with instances" is used in the frontend filter of events when logged in as an event creator to show events with repeats in a specific date range so it means "with repeats".

well, got it completed, but there is one item to confirm (one field that is not complete yet).

the incomplete section is under:
dmcd aug 22/04 new warning alert for no specified activity in event entry

item number 6, for example, in the area where it is talking about "By Month", there is an example like "". if it's By Month, why would the day of week be an example? (if it is an example...)

maybe if i could see the actual page, it would make more sense to me.

here is the example section i'm talking about. also the "for repeat type each 10/../2003" didn't make much sense to me either (both under "By Week" and "By Month";).
By Month</u></td> <td width="110" align="left" valign="top" class="frm_td_bymonth"> <font color="#000000">Once Per Month</font></td> <td align="left" valign="top" class="frm_td_bymonth"> <font color="#000000"> This option allow to choose the repeating Day of the Month <table border="0" width="100%" height="100%"><tr><td><b>Day number</b> for repeat type each 10/../2003</td></tr><tr><td><b>Day name</b> for repeat type each Monday</td></tr></table>

And by the way... here is the 99% complete file. RAR'd because "the extension ini is not allowed".

Well done and thanks for your effort.

Don't worry about those last couple of items - they are out of date and not used at present. I've not had a chance to remove all the deprecated strings.

I'll send you a voucher top upgrade your account to "silver" status and will ask Carlos (the translations co-ordinator) to be in touch re translating the other addons if you are interested.

Hi smoleniuch,
you may find the most up to date Japanese translation on our downloads area:

http://www.jevents.net/en/downloads/cat ... s?start=20

I am afraid there are lots of strings that have not been translated for a while. Would be interested in taking charge of the translation? If so, please send me a pm and I'll let you know the details.

All best!!
